These stunning designs were painted by Ethel Kvalheim (1912-2011). She has been awarded the distinguished Medal of St. Olav for carrying on the tradition of Norwegian rosemaling in America. She was a self taught artist from Stoughton, Wisconsin, who was integral to the revival of rosemaling in the United States.
